What does the Challenge involve?
The Challenge consists of three stages:
Stage 1: Online Lessons
The Challenge website provides teachers with three
curriculum-linked interactive lessons, designed for use in classrooms via interactive
whiteboards or PCs. These lessons, along with supporting info-activities,
allow students to learn in an interactive and fun way by recreating virtual
experiments, providing an understanding of hydrogen production and the
use of hydrogen technology to help create a zero emission city.
In addition to the interactive lessons and info-activities,
students and teachers have access to supplementary info-activities and
resources from
www.bmweducation.co.uk/CleanEnergy.
Stage 2: Challenge Quiz
Having learnt about the need for cleaner energy and
the role of hydrogen, students can put their knowledge to the test with
the Challenge Quiz. This interactive questionnaire, which is only available
to registered schools, gives students the opportunity to enter the draw
for a place in the Grand Final at City Hall.
Stage 3: Grand Final
Finalists selected from schools across the 33 London
boroughs will be invited to the Grand Final at City Hall, where they have
the opportunity to build and race hydrogen-powered model cars, win exciting
high-tech prizes and be in with a chance to claim the top prize of £1,000
for their school.
